Since its official launch in 2006, Roblox has amassed 79.5 million daily active users around the world. And in 2023, the Roblox Corporation revealed its grand ambition to increase that number to 1 billion daily active users. At this year’s Roblox Developers Conference, the company announced some new plans to reach that goal, including a partnership between Roblox and Shopify as well as revamped revenue-sharing plans for developers who make premium experiences for the game creation platform.Via the official Roblox site, the company’s deal with Shopify is part of a broader push to allow creators to sell their own physical merchandise within the experiences that they make for Roblox. Essentially, this means players won’t have to leave Roblox if they want to buy something from one of their favorite creators. It’s fair to say that Concord is one of the biggest flops in recent gaming history, with the hero shooter shutting down after just two weeks of existence. However, despite that, it seems that the game will live on through a side story in Prime Video’s video-game-themed TV show Secret Level, which releases on December 10.Announced back in August during Gamescom, Secret Level is an anthology series that will feature animated short stories set in the world of various games and gaming franchises, including God of War, The Outer Worlds 2, and Warhammer 40K. Concord was announced as one of the 15 franchises involved in the project, and a source told IGN that the game will remain a part of Secret Level.Secret Level will also feature new stories in franchises that haven’t seen a fresh entry in some time, such as Mega Man and Unreal Tournament. A brief moment in the trailer led us to think that Keanu Reeves might star in the Armored Core episode, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. World of Warcraft players leveling their new Earthen characters are doing so without having to fight monsters or complete a single quest. Instead, they are just flying around exploring the world and raking in XP along the way.The Earthen, the new, Dwarf-like playable race introduced in WoW’s recently released The War Within expansion, became playable on September 3 for those who completed the expansion’s main storyline and a handful of Earthen-centric side quests. It didn’t take long for players to discover that one of the Earthen’s passive racial abilities, Wide-Eyed Wonder, can actually be used to level up rather effectively, thanks to its 200% XP bonus for exploring previously undiscovered areas of the game’s map.

Acer unveiled several new laptops this week during a press event at IFA Berlin, but the most interesting hardware it unveiled is a conceptual one. The company posted a short trailer for what it calls Acer Project DualPlay: a gaming laptop that comes with its own detachable controller.Similar to how the Joy-Cons detach from a Switch console, the controller can be easily popped out of the laptop–as demonstrated in the video below–and separated from the cradle for when you want to do so co-op gaming. The controller forms part of the underside of the trackpad when inserted back into place, and the laptop also features pop-up speakers on the side. The obvious benefit to this idea is that it gives a user less hardware to carry about with them, as most controllers can take up a fair amount of space due to their design.
