HBO is bringing the behind-the-scenes chaos of making a superhero movie with The Franchise. Created by Mendes, Jon Brown, and Armando Iannucci, the series focuses on a crew for an upcoming superhero franchise film, trying to rein in the chaos of egos and their lives outside of the production.”The Franchise follows the crew of an unloved franchise movie fighting for their place in a savage and unruly cinematic universe,” the official show description reads. “The comedy series shines a light on the secret chaos inside the world of superhero moviemaking, to ask the question–how exactly does the cinematic sausage get made? Because every f***-up has an origin story.” HBO announced the series will premiere on October 6 and released a trailer. You can check it out below. You have to admit that HBO is pretty bold to allow this sort of thing where it’s not just poking fun of superhero movies but the people behind them, including the higher-ups. If you look closely, you can see the WB shield logo in the backlot and on the trailers. The cast includes Himesh Patel, Aya Cash as Anita, Jessica Hynes, Billy Magnussen, Lolly Adefope, Darren Goldstein, and Isaac Powell. After years of rumors, the PlayStation 5 Pro has officially been announced by Sony, and it’s arriving in less than two months. And while Sony’s mid-generation console update is a powerful machine, the social media reaction to its $700 price tag has been less than enthusiastic so far.One of the most common complaints among gamers is that neither the disc drive nor the vertical stand are included with the PS5 Pro.

Another drawback for fans is that only a select number of game…

Since its official launch in 2006, Roblox has amassed 79.5 million daily active users around the world. And in 2023, the Roblox Corporation revealed its grand ambition to increase that number to 1 billion daily active users. At this year’s Roblox Developers Conference, the company announced some new plans to reach that goal, including a partnership between Roblox and Shopify as well as revamped revenue-sharing plans for developers who make premium experiences for the game creation platform.Via the official Roblox site, the company’s deal with Shopify is part of a broader push to allow creators to sell their own physical merchandise within the experiences that they make for Roblox. Essentially, this means players won’t have to leave Roblox if they want to buy something from one of their favorite creators. The Roblox Corporation notes that there will also be integrated support for other e-commerce platforms alongside Shopify. These features will be added in early 2025, but a few select creators may participate in the pilot program later this year. The Roblox Corporation is also adding higher revenue sharing plans for creators who make premium experiences for Roblox on desktop. It’s fair to say that Concord is one of the biggest flops in recent gaming history, with the hero shooter shutting down after just two weeks of existence. However, despite that, it seems that the game will live on through a side story in Prime Video’s video-game-themed TV show Secret Level, which releases on December 10.Announced back in August during Gamescom, Secret Level is an anthology series that will feature animated short stories set in the world of various games and gaming franchises, including God of War, The Outer Worlds 2, and Warhammer 40K. Concord was announced as one of the 15 franchises involved in the project, and a source told IGN that the game will remain a part of Secret Level.Secret Level will also feature new stories in franchises that haven’t seen a fresh entry in some time, such as Mega Man and Unreal Tournament. A brief moment in the trailer led us to think that Keanu Reeves might star in the Armored Core episode, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. The John Wick star was recently revealed as the voice of Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3.The future of Concord remains unclear, with one of the developers of the game outright stating that “none of us know what’s …

World of Warcraft players leveling their new Earthen characters are doing so without having to fight monsters or complete a single quest. Instead, they are just flying around exploring the world and raking in XP along the way.The Earthen, the new, Dwarf-like playable race introduced in WoW’s recently released The War Within expansion, became playable on September 3 for those who completed the expansion’s main storyline and a handful of Earthen-centric side quests. It didn’t take long for players to discover that one of the Earthen’s passive racial abilities, Wide-Eyed Wonder, can actually be used to level up rather effectively, thanks to its 200% XP bonus for exploring previously undiscovered areas of the game’s map.

Acer unveiled several new laptops this week during a press event at IFA Berlin, but the most interesting hardware it unveiled is a conceptual one. The company posted a short trailer for what it calls Acer Project DualPlay: a gaming laptop that comes with its own detachable controller.Similar to how the Joy-Cons detach from a Switch console, the controller can be easily popped out of the laptop–as demonstrated in the video below–and separated from the cradle for when you want to do so co-op gaming. The controller forms part of the underside of the trackpad when inserted back into place, and the laptop also features pop-up speakers on the side. The obvious benefit to this idea is that it gives a user less hardware to carry about with them, as most controllers can take up a fair amount of space due to their design. Acer says the controller on its DualPlay concept can be quickly detached from its electromagnetic lock by placing two fingers on the release button located on top of the keyboard, so it should be a secure fit for when you’re doing non-gaming tasks on the laptop. It also has quite a lot of RGB lighting, because nothing says gaming hardware like a constant flow of r…

Given the positive reviews of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which launches very soon, you might now be wondering what kind of PC specs you need to join the fight. Publisher Focus Entertainment recommends a beefy RTX 3070 GPU with 8GB of VRAM to help render those swarms of homicidal species that originate from outside the galaxy, especially if you’re looking to get a 60fps experience. You’ll also need a decent CPU and 16GB of RAM if you want to play the game in 1080p and at 60fps. In comparison, the minimum PC requirements are more forgiving if you’re using older hardware, although this targets 30fps at 1080p to help keep the game running smoothly. The mandatory requirement across all PCs is a solid-state drive with 75GB of storage capacity available, which will likely help process all the hundreds of heretics you’ll face on the battlefield.
